For the past few years the police have been advertising for new recruits with the slogan of "get better work stories". I wonder if they'll want to turn this into an ad?
Three men allegedly assaulted by a "renegade" cop claim they were choked, kicked and punched while handcuffed and hog-tied in police custody.These are serious assaults - one victim lost a testicle, while another was choked so badly he still has trouble speaking. The good news again is that other police dobbed the alleged offenders in - the message that this sort of behaviour is unacceptable to the New Zealand public is getting through.The alleged victims spoke out as two more police officers appeared in court accused of assault while on duty in February.
